Remembrance Day Ceremony 2022

Today at 11:00 we held a ceremony for Remembrance Day.  We watched a video provided by the Canadian Department of National Defense that showed all the different branches of our military and the engagements in which they have participated in the past years.  Miss Marshall read some literature about Canadian indigenous soldiers' historical role in defending our country.  Mrs. Minelli's Grade 5/6 class sang "Remembrance Day Child" and displayed their poppy artwork.  Mrs. Dockstader's Grade 3/4 class recited "In Flanders Field" and displayed various art projects they made for Remembrance Day.  Miss Marshall's Grade 1/2 class recited the poem "Poppies for Remembrance".  Mrs. Walker's Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten class recited the poem "Poppy, Poppy".  It was a very nice ceremony and a great first use of our new portable Viewboard, which allowed us to display music and videos in the gym.
