The Fulham Community School Garden
We put our Fulham Community School Garden together yesterday! Two amazing members of our Parent Council built the raised beds and got them placed where we had planned in our school yard with layers of cardboard underneath. Then, some of our students put the dirt that was donated to our school into the beds. It was dirt that was previously in pots, so they had to break it up- some with their hands, some by jumping up and down on it.
For our first project we are considering planting some crops that will sprout in the spring, such as garlic. Teaching our students such an important life-skill as how to grow their own food will be very interesting and rewarding and our school team is very excited to begin!
